Canal House Helena
Brouwersgracht - City Center - Amsterdam - the Netherlands
Private apartment with canal view
My beautifully furnished ground-floor apartment is situated in a light canal house on the picturesque and romantic Brouwersgracht canal. In 2000 this canal was pronounced the most beautiful canal of Amsterdam .
With its large north facing windows, the apartment is bathed in natural light throughout the day. Casa Helena is conveniently located on the cusp of the Jordaan district, 5 minutes walk from the Anne Frank House and the award winning 9 streets shopping district, and 10 minutes walk from Central Station.
The apartment itself comprises of an open plan living and bedroom area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious bathroom. It also has a large television and free wifi available.
Close to central station, restaurants, clubs, bars and special boutiques/shops and museum.
This house is perfectly suited for 2 persons. It is spacious and has a fantastic view!

The Jordaan and canal area is of course the most beautiful part of Amsterdam. Every Saturday and Monday great biological and fleemarket just next to you on the Lindengracht and the Noordermarkt.
Little clothesshops, vintage, design, everything nice is just around the corner.
This area is full of good restaurants. Walk around during the day and you will find lots of different types of food.
The parallel street is the Haarlemmerstraat. Just left over the bridge. There you will find absolutely anything you will need. There is on your left hand side a small biological supermarket Ekoplaza. There are two big supermarkets on your right, one normal Albert Heijn and one delicious/expensive biological supermarket called Marqt. Both few minutes walk.
But there are also very good bakery shops, a Maroccan butcher with also cheap vegetables, a lot of beautiful lunch café’s, fantastic second hand clothes shops, just walk up and down and you will find it all.
Just a few minutes on your left in the Haarlemmerstraat is a beautiful small cinema The Movies with a beautiful cafe-restaurant and great films in original version.
Five minutes on the bike is cultural centre Westergasfabriek
Former gas factory with various buildings on the site – Café Pacific for lunch, dinner, cool club nights. Club de Ville for club nights, performances, the North Sea Jazz club, theatre and nice markets on Sundays.Plus there’s a cinema (screening Dutch films) and a number of theater groups and performers are located here.
Hi, I am a Dutch lady who works as a researcher for the Dutch public television. I make a cultural programme about the art and music .
I lived my whole live in Amsterdam and I still think it is one of the best places in the world. There still is a free spirit with a lot of creative, happy people and a good mix of cultures. It’s not such a tough city as Paris but still has all the possibilities for whatever you want to do and to see.
I would like to convince all my guests that there is in Amsterdam so much more to see than the Red light district and coffeeshops. There is so much music, dance, theatre, open air cinema and art in and outside the museums.
